Hotel Arctic is blessed with a location that speaks for itself - and has facilities that have been brought so much up to date that they meet all expectations. Nevertheless the human factor has a very high priority. In fact a vital priority. If the buildings and the technology function well it is the extra efforts of the personnel that make your experience into something even more enjoyable.

We just love having happy guests
This is why we are proud of being the employer of such skilled and motivated personnel. Every single one of our staff knows how to make guests feel comfortable from the first "welcome" to the last "safe journey". Smiles and a desire to help are the most important factors, and we just love having happy and satisfied guests. It is like a self-sustaining source of energy that the staff themselves produce and maintain. We hope you will always remember your stay at Hotel Arctic with positive thoughts and that you will be back again some day soon.

Local place of work and place of education
All the year round there are about 60 employees at Hotel Arctic. In the high season this number grows to about 70. The hotel is - as is the whole tourist industry - a important place of work in the town. We make a special effort to offer members of the local population training places and we are proud of the fact that we always have about 10 young people in training - as chefs, waiters, receptionists or in administration. The training periods last for about four years and are combined with courses at schools in Narsaq in Southern Greenland and in Aalborg in Denmark.

We have something to be proud of
Our reputation as a good place of training is reflected in the results apprentices and trainees from Hotel Arctic achieve while at the schools. They are often among the best in their classes. For example in the Greenland championships for trainee chefs: Three of the four championships that have been held have been won by employees from Hotel Arctic. The latest prize was won in 2007 by our trainee chef Inunnguaq Hegelun, and we are naturally very proud of this.
