With a car at your disposal, you will get the most out of your time in Ilulissat – whether you are here on holiday or on business. When you stay at Hotel Arctic you can rent a car for one or more days.

The car is a four-wheel drive Suzuki SX4 with a petrol engine.

Rental of the car costs DKK 500 per day or DKK 2,500 per week. The price includes free mileage and insurance.

Please book the car, when you make your hotel reservation at Hotel Arctic. On the reservation form simply state in the "comments" box that you want to rent a car. Please tell us if you want the car for your entire stay, or state which days you want to rent the car for.

Remember to bring a valid Greenlandic, Danish or international driving license. We will take a photocopy when you pick up the car keys at the hotel’s reception.

We cannot guarantee that a car will be available unless you book the car rental when you make your hotel reservation – and you have received a confirmation from us. But you are always welcome to inquire at reception!

The road net in Ilulissat stretches from the airport north of the town to the former heliport south of the town – close to Ilulissat Ice Fjord. There are no roads connecting Ilulissat to other settlements or towns in Greenland.

It is not necessary to rent a car to have a great stay in Ilulissat: As a guest at Hotel Arctic you will be picked up at the airport when you arrive and taken to the airport when you leave. There is a complimentary shuttle between the hotel and the centre of Ilulissat every day from 06.00 hrs – 18.00 hrs.
